Andonia Layr is many things... a woman, a model, a musician, and a unique individual working to change the world responsibly. Andonia Layr is also a dynamic indie band determined to play original and inspiring music for people from all walks of life. Their music has quickly become a staple for Dallas residents and is spreading like a wild fire throughout the country. Although undefined, their sound seems to fall into the Folk category, with people describing it as Free Spirit or Gypsy Folk Rock.
ABOUT THE BAND:
Based in Dallas and formed in early 2009, this trio recently released their Free Spirit EP, are planning a West Coast tour for this summer, and have already began preliminary work on their first full length album! They have played many of Dallas' best rock venues including: The Bone, Poor David's Pub, The Prophet Bar, Liquid Lounge; and two unforgettable performances at the 2010 & 2011 Deep Ellum Arts Festivals.
Andonia (Vocals, Guitar)
is an imaginative song writer, singer, guitar player, keyboard player and model who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through art. Her work is often noted for it's unique style. Andonia has developed a repertoire of lyrics that blends precise realism with abstract expressionism. In life, she values each experience as another way to move forward and she is constantly striving to learn and grow as a person, an artist and as a model. Her music began to take shape over 10 years ago and has developed into a blend of jazz, swing, pop and reggae rock. She performs original music and strives for an energetic and very personal live performance each time she plays.
Danny Morrish (Drums, Percussion) is a talented musician who has been learning the art of the drums for over 20 years and has been performing in bands for almost as long. He is driven by the experience and energy of playing and has used it to overcome the fact that he is legally blind. He is a proud husband, father and friend.
Sarah Reinke (Cello)
is a creative, think-outside-of-the-box musician with over 20 years of experience as a classically trained Cellist. She continues to expand her knowledge and style of playing and also performs in the Dallas String Trio. As the newest member of the band, we are happy to have her on board and look forward to the road ahead.
